He never got sick-couldn’t even remember the last time he had felt under the weather, unless you counted hangovers. Neal refused to accept the fact that he might be sick. Okay, so this was not a good way to start the day.

As ridiculous as it sounded, even his hair and eyelashes seemed to hurt. His chest felt a bit congested and his head was pounding like it housed a garage band on steroids. It made him aware that every muscle, from head to toe, seemed painfully sore. Now that Neal was fully awake and taking stock of his body, it was sending him ominous messages. He was surprised when that caused a bit of vertigo and his vision became fuzzy for a second. With a groan, he heaved himself to a sitting position and then swung his legs to the floor. Well, obviously that bit of aerobic exercise wasn’t going to be happening today. Neal always liked to factor in time for a pre-dawn run around Riverside Drive before returning home to shower and put on his spiffy Caffrey armor for another day in White Collar. He squinted his eyes as he grabbed his phone, and then wheezed out a sigh when he realized he had actually slept through the device’s 5 AM wake up alarm.
